About This Tour

Seven days with your own private driver and vehicle, covering everything Jordan is known for. No shared buses, no fixed group schedule — just you, your group, and a route built around what you want to see. The week opens in the north at Jerash, Ajloun Castle and Umm Qais, before a day exploring Amman itself and the Umayyad desert castles. From there, the King's Highway carries you south past Madaba's mosaics and Karak's Crusader fortress to Petra, where you get a full, unrushed day to explore the rose-red city at your own pace. The route continues to Wadi Rum for a desert jeep safari, then to the Dead Sea and the Red Sea at Aqaba, before a final private transfer back to Amman or the airport. Every detail — pace, stops, overnight stays — is customizable. Tell us what you want more of, and we'll build the week around it.

How the Day Runs

Day 1
Jerash, Ajloun & Umm Qais

Arrival transfer and a day exploring three of northern Jordan's finest historical sites. Jerash is the best-preserved Roman provincial city in the world — colonnaded streets, a hippodrome, and a monumental forum. Ajloun Castle is a 12th-century Ayyubid fortress set among pine forests. Umm Qais, ancient Gadara, sits on a hilltop with sweeping views over the Sea of Galilee, the Golan Heights, and the Yarmouk Valley. Overnight in Amman.

Day 2
City Tour & Desert Castles

A morning exploring Amman itself — the Citadel with its Temple of Hercules and Umayyad Palace, the Roman Theatre, and the downtown souks. In the afternoon, head east into the desert to visit the Umayyad desert castles — Qasr Amra, with its UNESCO-listed 8th-century frescoes, Qasr Kharana, and Azraq — hunting lodges and caravan stops from the early Islamic period.

Day 3
King's Highway

One of the world's oldest continuously used roads, tracing a route steeped in biblical history south toward Petra. Stops along the way can include Mount Nebo, where Moses is said to have viewed the Promised Land, Madaba's Byzantine mosaic map of the Holy Land, and Karak Castle, a formidable Crusader fortress perched above the Dead Sea. Arrive in Petra by evening.

Day 4
Free Day in Petra

A full, unrushed day at Petra — enough time to walk the Siq to the Treasury, continue on to the Monastery hike, and explore the Royal Tombs and colonnaded street at your own pace. Your driver and vehicle stay with you throughout the day; there's no group schedule to keep to.

Day 5
Wadi Rum

Drive south into the Valley of the Moon for a desert jeep safari through towering red-sand dunes and granite mountains, including several Lawrence of Arabia filming locations. Given the length of this trip, we'd encourage an overnight stay in a Bedouin desert camp — there's time to enjoy it properly rather than treating it as a quick stop.

Day 6
Dead Sea & Red Sea

Two very different seas in one day. A morning drive to Aqaba, Jordan's only coastal city, on the Red Sea — a relaxed harbour town with excellent coral reefs. From there, continue to the Dead Sea for a float in the world's lowest and saltiest lake, rich in minerals, with the option to catch the sunset over the water.

Day 7
Dead Sea to Amman or Airport

A final private transfer back to Amman, or directly to Queen Alia International Airport, timed around your departure flight — bringing the week to a close.

Questions People Actually Ask

Is seven days too much time for Jordan, or does it fill up naturally?

It fills up naturally, and most guests tell us afterward they're glad they didn't try to compress it. Jordan is a small country geographically but a dense one historically — Amman, Jerash, the Dead Sea, the King's Highway, Petra, Wadi Rum, and Aqaba are each worth a genuine day rather than a rushed half-day stop. Seven days means Petra gets its full day instead of being squeezed alongside another destination, and you're not spending every evening exhausted from back-to-back long drives. It's the itinerary we recommend for anyone whose main trip focus is Jordan itself, rather than a quick add-on to a wider Middle East trip.

Do you help with hotel bookings, or just the driving?

We offer hotel booking assistance across all four to five-star options for each stop on the route, meaning we can recommend and help arrange accommodation, but the hotel costs themselves aren't bundled into the private-vehicle price — you pay for what you actually choose, at whatever tier suits your budget. Some guests prefer to book their own hotels through points or a separate travel agent and just use us for the private transport and route planning, which works fine too. Either way, your driver and vehicle stay consistent for all seven days regardless of where you're sleeping each night.

Can we skip a destination if we've already been there before?

Absolutely — this itinerary is a flexible seven-day frame built around Jordan's essential stops, not a fixed script you have to follow exactly. If you've already done Jerash on a previous trip, or you'd rather spend an extra day in Aqaba diving instead of driving back early, tell us when you book and we'll rebuild the week around what you actually want more of. Every detail is customizable, which is why we ask for a bit of back-and-forth before finalizing the exact day-by-day plan rather than just sending you a template.

Is it worth extending to Wadi Rum for an overnight camp?

Given you already have seven days, yes — this is one of the itineraries where we'd actively encourage the overnight rather than treating it as a pure add-on, since you have the time to enjoy it properly rather than squeezing it in. A night in a Bedouin desert camp between the jeep safari and the drive to Aqaba breaks up the week nicely and gives you the stargazing and stillness that a same-day Wadi Rum visit can't fully deliver. Mention it when booking and we'll adjust the day count accordingly, or work it into the existing seven days if you'd rather keep the trip length fixed.
