How the Day Runs

6:00 AM
Pickup and drive to Petra

Around two and a half hours from Amman. We aim to have you at the Siq entrance before the bigger tour groups arrive.

8:30 AM
Petra, at your own pace

Roughly four to five hours inside, enough for the Treasury, Royal Tombs, and a relaxed walk through the main sites without feeling rushed toward the exit.

1:00 PM
Lunch, included

At a local restaurant near the Petra entrance, before the drive to the Dead Sea. Nothing fancy, just properly good, and it's already paid for.

2:30 PM
Drive to the Dead Sea

About an hour and a half, mostly downhill, literally, since you're heading toward the lowest point on Earth.

4:00 PM
Float, and let the mud dry

Late afternoon light on the water is genuinely the best time to be here. A couple of hours is usually enough to float, mud up, rinse off, and still feel unrushed.

6:30 PM
Return to Amman

About an hour back, so you're not getting in too late even with the long day behind you.

Questions People Actually Ask

Is one day enough for both Petra and the Dead Sea?

It's a full day, no question, but it works. You get a genuine several hours in Petra and still enough time to properly float and mud up at the Dead Sea before heading back. It's a long day, not a rushed one.

What's actually included in the lunch?

A proper sit-down meal at a local restaurant near Petra, not a packed sandwich in the van. Vegetarian options are available if you tell us in advance.

Do we need to bring anything specific for the Dead Sea part?

A swimsuit, a towel, and old sandals you don't mind getting muddy. Freshwater showers are on site to rinse off before you get back in the car.

Can we skip Petra and just do a full day at the Dead Sea?

Sure, just ask for our Dead Sea Day Use tour instead, it's built around exactly that with more time to actually relax by the water.
