A dramatic gorge cutting through 1,300 metres of elevation change down to the Dead Sea shore, technically a nature reserve but functionally an adventure activity — the main draw is the Siq Trail, a guided canyoning route that involves wading, swimming, and climbing water-carved rock formations, finishing at a small waterfall. It's one of the very few "adventure" activities in Jordan that isn't desert-based.
Wadi Mujib is about 1.5 hours from Amman (90 km) on the Dead Sea Highway, roughly 20 minutes south of the main Dead Sea hotel strip — often combined with a Dead Sea day trip.
April to October is when the Siq Trail is actually open — the reserve closes it during the winter rainy season (roughly November to March) due to flash flood risk in the canyon, so check ahead if you're visiting outside summer.
You'll get completely wet — bring water shoes (essential, the rocks are sharp and slippery), a dry bag for your phone and valuables, and a change of clothes for after. This isn't optional add-on scenery; it requires reasonable fitness and comfort in water, so it's not for everyone in the group.
